How to choose

An inventory only works if updating it is quick: check first how you add a pack (barcode, camera, photo read by AI or typing) and whether the app knows where you keep it (bathroom, kitchen, car, travel bag). If the cabinet belongs to the whole family, check how it's shared: MyAidKit and Supplies share through iCloud, Medlet Pro shares one cabinet with your partner, FarmaStock Premium syncs between devices on the same Apple ID.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make an inventory of the medicines at home?

Take the packs one at a time and record name, quantity, place and expiration date. With an app that reads the barcode or the expiration date it takes a few seconds per pack; after that, you only add new medicines when you buy them.

Which app lets the family share the medicine cabinet?

According to their listings: MyAidKit shares kits with family members via iCloud, Supplies shares an inventory via iCloud (Plus), Medlet shares one cabinet with your partner (Pro), MyCabinet keeps separate cabinets for your loved ones. FarmaStock syncs through iCloud between devices on the same Apple ID (Premium).

Is FarmaStock a good fit if I live in the US?

For expiration dates, yes: the camera reads the date on any box. For recognizing the medicine, less so: the barcode database is built on Italian medicines, so many US packs are added by name or by hand. The app is in English.
